If the masks were dropped in random locations at random times I honestly don't think it would be a bad idea. I would rather prefer them being a monster drop prorated with the monster's level like bunny ears were about 18 months ago.

But, that's "unfair" to skillers.

What we should do is nothing, that way at least everyone would complain instead of a few cry babies.

Why not make a easy event, like talk to npc and get the 3 masks. Make it untradable . Or a scythe it doesn't really matter since it's only a cosmetic item. Also making custom events isn't such a bad idea. Like a Devils prong or bat wings or even a trick or treat bag. Even a amulet that turns you into a orange imp would be cool. A Frankenstein outfit? A pet ghost... Maybe we have to play trick or treat to random Npc's to collect 10 candy prices which we could exchange for the mask of our choice. A pumpkin lantern? I'm just brainstorming here..

But, that's "unfair" to skillers.

What we should do is nothing, that way at least everyone would complain instead of a few cry babies.

To my knowledge, there's only 2 "skillers" that I'm aware of - myself and Kendall (and I haven't seen Kendall lately).  Both of us have alt-combat accounts, so we can lay to rest worrying about skillers - unless there is a relatively new account designed as a skiller.

But pickpocketing a mask would be pretty sweet...

killing and pickpocketing is fine with me but I would hope the drop rate/pickpocket rate would be fairly substantial.. It would also make it a lot easier on the devs as well so other MUCH needed content can be worked on instead of a one time project.. like the API

I would suggest 2005's event, however it's a shame we cannot do the one from 2007, as that was so fun, I believe you were rewarded with the Grim Reaper Mask for that.

Please leave this event running for up to a week after Halloween, as I am unlikely to get on during this college break, and many may have the same problem.

Also, make it so you can only obtain one of the items per account, like this years easter event. (Not the eggs, the rubber chicken).

Yea I agree with you on that one, its hell week for me in college lol those midterm exams, I will have more time to be on later this week hopefully
