I hate dubstep too :D. What type of music do you typically listen to though?

realitycheck

Give us a hint... just a little direction.  Your name isn't as obvious on the music front as say... Darkthrone  :D

Brothership

Just gimme whatever you like. I listen to every type of music, it doesnt matter if its Daft punk or if its Nirvana.

The best way to discover new music is take what you listen to, and just trace the influences back, as well as check out bands on the same labels (if they're smaller more independent labels). Try and push yourself out of comfort zones too though.

Create a Last.fm profile.

Going off this chart, and you listing Nirvana and Daft Punk, check the Noise-Rock, Punk, and Post-Punk sections out - as well as the Synth Pop, Electronica, and Neo-Psychedlia groups (the text on the right hand side will list multiple albums for each artist featured).

You asked for it...

Wintersun - great for the season - check out Death and the Healing, Sadness and Hate, Winter Madness
Amon Amarth - viking death metal! - check out anything from the album With Oden on Our Side
Finntroll - some fun Finnish folk metal - check out Trollhammern, Skogens Hamnd, Solsagen, Jaktens Tid
Korpiklaani - more Finnish folk metal - check out Wooden Pints, Midsummers Night, Happy Little Boozer (if you don't hum along to this...then I can't help you)
Ensiferum - pagan metal - check out From Afar, Battle Song, Iron
Eluveitie - pagan metal with a twist - check out Inis Mona, Rose for Epona (beautiful female lead vocals), Nil
Funeral Tears - funeral doom metal - all instruments played by one guy - check out Your Life My Death (hooked on this one)
Xasthur - depressive black metal (for very specific moods) - check out Prison of Mirrors, Walker of Dissonant Worlds (instrumental, but moving)

You can see where my tastes lie, and this is but a sample.  If you happen to like any of these, I can offer more suggestions.

Enjoy

The Vanguard

Bloc party- Ratchet
Dan Croll- Compliment your Soul
Disclosure- F for you
Olympic Ayres - Magic
Portugal. The Man - Purple Yellow Red and Blue
The Chain Gang of 1974 - Miko
The Royal Concept - On Our Way

From the Fifa 14 soundtrack I was gifted recently, these songs be, I deemed them acceptable enough to add to my routine listening.
You know that weird flavour in your mouth when you woke up this morning? Yup, that was me.
