Usually it is the other way around :D (Lighter should hurt eyes more), I'd love to see the lighter version with a new banner though.

It looks nice and tis good that its a bright theme but the white and blue makes it feel like a default theme, and it feels a bit boring imo

I definitely prefer the lighter colored theme. It looks amazing! Plus I feel like a light theme gives a more professional look then a dark theme.

I'm not into the light blue too much. I've sort of grown to like the current theme, though it is a bit dark. Good work so far, guy's.

Also, i think it would be nice to have a shout box on the homepage instead of IRC. A place where we can chat and help newcomers with questions. It would help a lot with communication and we wouldn't have to have tons of tabs open for posting on forums, chatting through IRC etc. It's just my opinion. I also don't feel safe chatting on IRC and the fact that it's a bit dull.

Its better for sure. Also, id suggest not having such a massive donate button on the main page because it might put some players off thinking this is all about the money, keep it easily accessible, but discreet.

I can see what you mean but we have a lot more control on the IRC chatbox and a shoutbox is just annoying on a site, its also never very good :/

Classic and I may look for a more gray/neutral theme to find a middle ground

I agree the new one may be too bright, but I also agree the current one has some ugly features (like the quote box and stars)

That's better than this one but as I've said on the IRC a few times, it's not as much the colors it's the layout as well. The portal is a complete head-fuck looking at it, there's so much crammed into a small space. I suggest that you instead get rid of the portal and create a homepage that makes use of the SSI and then you can show the latest posts, members etc through that. You could then clean up the boards because some of them are ridiculous, for example the marketplace category. There's no need for that many boards. Those could be made into Buying and Selling and then you could split the individual categories such as food and runes into child boards, that would be a lot cleaner in my opinion.
