Poison damage splash but no HP loss

When I use my Iron Dagger (p) monsters do get poisoned but when I see a green poison splash their HPbar doesn't decrease. So the poison does no damage no matter what monster I fight.

I think this only happens with monsters which are immune to poison 0.0

It really feels like rocks should be able to be poisoned... Or not.

2007 wiki says they are not immune to poison.
