It might be worth noting that metal dragons drop rune hatchets.

From what memory serves, the ancient caverns above the Baxtorian falls contained brutal dragons and the mith dragon.  Though, if it was added after 2006 I can't say either way.  But the metal dragons I know and fought were in the end of Brimhaven Dungeon along with red dragons and fire giants in there.
