Agreed - otherwise the isolation would just be too much, this way I an see if anyone besides people on my friends list are online, and we can all just group chat. Good way to keep the community in the cohesive.

Teamspeak might be nice, but I can't see it getting used for much at the moment, at least where Skype wouldn't suffice, as we don't have any group activities that require that sort of communication/co-operation. Could be good though, still.

It would be great if only for the alters to have decent prayer xp rates, though I can imagine it would cause some deflation too with the amount of gp it would be taking out of the server.

I've got more faith in this place not doing me over than Jagex, slow, infrequent but desired content is better than cash-grab schemes being rolled out weekly. I hope this place is always around.

I had to pay around 3 mil for mine, that must have been last autumn. Save your money, don't enable hoarders, we'll have more headwear drops.

I stopped playing actively because there was no party hats, essentially. That may seem shallow, but you can't undervalue the significance of aesthetics and wearable prestige. Grinding is good and fun, but, without skill capes, high scores, or rare items, the levels and gainz ring a little hollow for me.

Let's think short-term a little bit, a lot of fun for a month is better than stagnation and mediocrity for another year.

I sat the event out, I was online when we got the update, but decided sticking around for hours trying to out-click a person who decided to camp a spawn spot wasn't my idea of a good time, lol.

I'd really suggest making all holiday items untradable, and retrievable from Diango, I think we've proven as a community that we'll just otherwise try to horde these items and sell them later for ridiculously inflated and nostalgic profit margins to people coming into the server hoping to reasonably work up to owning a vanity item.

I appreciate you guys trying to put an event out for us, I just think we should collectively re-examine methods that might be healthier for the community.

Dude's come on too strong in gaming communities, which leads to most girls keeping low profiles or just avoiding them completely. Also, without coming off sexist, I think there's a tendency for RuneScape to appeal more socially and aesthetically to girls, rather than the typically male "Noxpwastegrindallday420' mind set - considering our server has low player count, and it's hard to make your character look cool or cute with our relatively limited cosmetic item pool (nearly no rares, no skill capes, no colored robes, misc. quest items, etc.), there isn't much to draw in many female players, or to keep them around.

Just an opinion, of course.

This has been a testing of the water, to see just how much the EU will bend - and this gives Putin even more of a greenlight. I don't think anyone believes this ends with Crimea.

If highscores are a priority in the vupdate pipeline, that's good because I believe that's an element in retaining  and motivating players. Quests unlock content that people want (Dragon weapons, Slayer locations, etc..), and working and enabled skills are sort of integral to making our server stand out.

We may never have a huge playerbase for reasons already mentioned by others, but an active close-knit server with a dynamic moving economy is not at all unrealistic.
