how can we get more players in the game?

Pyro

An easy way to help out is to vote daily for RuneRebels, I'd recommend voting on moparscape.

By having an owner that focuses on adding content and reasons to vote. Won't happen though

The lack of updates is the main problem, and the main solution would be have more updates. However, I'm sure a few people would still be willing to join and play on this server even with the lack of updates.

Look at it this way, many people still played this server when there was much less content. I think it's still possible to get new players if people vote and interact with others; I met a new player recently who joined because he saw RuneRebels listed on moparscape.

**EDIT: Also, making sure the game is functional would be a step forward**

i won't be deleting the server advertisement link because it's wonderful to see the different stages of new 2006 servers.

at first it's the small advertisers that try to get many players...
then the server countdown.
alpha trial, possibly 60 players.
then the cry for donations to maintain everything
beta has like 5 players because of all the duping/glitching/ect.

lastly, the different endings. usually it's the owner(s) making a post about how he has no time to maintain it all, and they'll be doing stuff for their future.
all this spans out to usually a month or two.

lol

Dont forget the hype part where everyone is talking how good that server is and how they tell everyone their server is soooooooooo good

Stuart

Basically the moral of the story is we need more updates. Without an evolving server community and development wise, nothing will happen. And no part will evolve without the other.

That was hilarious and spot on! :D

Look at this last note still left from an owner from a previous remake in 2013. :P

This server has a lot of memories for me and others but the sad truth is, nobody wants to join a incomplete server that lacks updates or a big community :(. I would love to see at least 50 people on a day but that won't happen unless they brush off the dust and start working on quests and content.

Although not a 2006 server, the server I play is a remake from 2008 and I've been playing it for a year strong 8).

Anyone still playing? I just found out and am absolutely in love with this, and got a few of my friends interested. It's too bad I'm the only player in the server :/. Also a helpful tip to the people running this is that the client is difficult to download as in hard to understand what to do with the download. Somehow I got it working by playing around with the files.

Huh it's just a .zip, pretty standard. Unless you prefer like an unzipped .exe. I guess there should be different options on a main download page then d:

I think some skillers still play... it would be cool to see a graph of playtime so we don't have to guess at this. Hmm
