So in order to make 2.1 the best update it could possibly be we'd like to cry out to the community for help.

Current only two of our admins (Me and N0va) actually play the game. So we'd like help with a few things.
So to help us out the maximum extent, first off, use the command ::idson in game, it will say command not found, but allows you to see the ID's of npc's, items, and objects. Then go to the proper thread in bug reports, or create a new thread in bug report.

Here's a list of the things we'd like to see in order help us out:

Doors & gates that don't work
Stairs or ladders that don't work
NPC's that don't have the correct drops
Misc text errors in dialogue
NPC's missing dialogue
NPC's that aren't spawned
Slayer tasks that are missing
Slayer tasks that have missing npc's or NPC's that don't count
Item bonuses that are incorrect.
Missing or incorrect global spawns
NPC's that fail to walk that should

Along with your report, an ID of the NPC, Item, or object(with coordinates) would be great.

Most of the bugs have been reported, however as most of us have school and work, a fresh reminder of old bugs may allow us to hammer into fixing them faster :)

Please don't report bugs in this topic, but feel free to bump the topic any time before 2.1 in order to get people to continually participate however!

So 2.0.9 is going to be a "rolling update." What this means is throughout the next few days or so, there will be random reboots to fix issues with the refactoring of the server and slayer tasks/npc spawns. We will slowly compile a list and release the topic when they are all fixed :)

RuneRebels 2.0.8 has arrived! With loads of bug fixes and new content, there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy. ;)



~NPCs~
- Added Bandit spawns in bandit camp. -
- Added Desert Lizard spawns in the desert area. -
- Added Tree spawn in Draynor manor. -
- Added ability for non movement aggressive NPCs. -
- Added support for aggression towards any combat level. -
- Decreased the drop rate for Mystic Pieces. -
- Fixed Robe Store Owner's location to inside the Magic Guild. -
- Added Magic Store Owner inside the Magic Guild. -
- Added Magic Shop to the Magic Guild. -
- Added Wizard Frumscone spawn inside the Magic Guild. -
- Added Zombie spawn in the Magic Guild basement. -

~Slayer Plugin~
- Added reassigning slayer tasks to Turael. -
- Slayer masters no longer constantly reassign tasks. -

- You will now receive a task complete message when you finish a slayer task. -

- Curtain in bandit camp is now openable. -
- Staircases in Tree Gnome Village now work. -
- Both Magic Guild Staircases now work. -
- Mage Guild doors added. -
- Ladder to Magic Guild basement (and back) work. -
- Added teleport to Mage's Tower in the Magic Guild. -

- Farming now counts toward your total level. -
- Fixed some issues with Shops. -
- Poison speed is now correct @ one hit every 10 seconds. -
- Refactored the game server and all plugins. (server now uses about 50MB of RAM before world map render) -

So ITT, you high five all the people who posted before you, then you open up mspaint(or equivilent os program) (no cheating and using photoshop folks) and put your hand to the screen. Then draw around your hand using the default brush tool to the best of your ability (really doesn't matter too much, its all fun). Then post! (also crop out the whitespace)

So the voting fraud was absolutely ridiculous. I went through all the votes to find all the of the false votes, and everyone had fake votes, but sento and galleta had loooots of false votes. I'm here to quash rumors about either of them unfairly boosting their own vote count. They both messaged members of the community to vote for them, and other people took it upon themselves to vote multiple times. Neither of them were involved in the fiasco, and it was neither of their faults or doing.

Ice giant drops fixed - no longer drops a whole host of seeds it wasn't supposed to drop, no longer drops some items it wasn't supposed to drop, increased a lot of %'s to fill the void for the drops.

Thieving fixes - Seed stalls now drop only allotment patch seeds, and low level flower seeds
Also Master farmers now drop all allotment patch seeds, flower seeds, herb seeds, bush seeds, cactus seeds, belladona seeds, and mushroom spores.

Ogres no longer drop coins, and upped seed rates to compensate a little bit. (the nothing rate may be a little high, but will fix in the future)

Fire giants - Rune scims now drop 1/100, dmed chance reduced by half, rune drop rates have a nice increase, coins now drop lower amounts more of the time, rune drops now set properly, and many more adjustments.

All monsters in the Asgardian Ice Dungeon now walk

Drop rates now more exact. This is a huge improvement in our drop system, which allows us to be very precise about how often something drops as opposed to before where it was like eh 1% of the time, 10% of the time, same same. (this should also reenable metal dragons to be able to drop dmeds)

Weapon poison now createable (and works)
Weapon poison+ now createable (and works too!)
Weapon poinson++ now createable (also works, yay!)

Farming fixes- all items that are supposed to super compost, now should including:     Any herb Avantoe or higher, Toadflax, Jangerberries, Watermelons, Pineapples, any tree root, Bittercap mushrooms, Papaya fruit, Whiteberries, Poison ivy berries, Coconuts, and Coconut shells
All items that are supposed to compost should including: all fruits, all flowers, all hops, redberries, dwellberries, cadavaberries, and birds nests

in other news drops are a lot easier for us to deal with now (yay!) so look forward to some drop tweaking, and if you want to post any monsters that should be looked over,  I'll start a topic on it so I can start looking through some of the drops :)

So as you all know the Website and Game were down for almost a whole day. This is because our VPS completely shut down, and we were unable to get in contact with the hosting company. We tweeted at them, opened a ticket, posted on their facebook, and emailed them. They never responded to us once. Today the VPS came back online as noted with the webserver. At first I completely disregarded the fact that my update post I had been preparing had changed back before I added a few things to it. After we turned the game on we realized the whole VPS had been rolled back about two days. We have external backups of the server, but they are synced from the VPS.

Unfortunately when the VPS turned back on it synced all the backups and overwrote all the more recent ones with nothing. This is extremely problematic, but we have not had this issue in the past. We are working on making sure this does not happen again in the future, but for now we have no real solution to offer those who put a lot of hard work in the past two days.

So in response to this, we are preparing three days of double XP starting around tonight at Midnight EST. Hopefully this will make up for all the lost levels and allow everyone to catch up to where they were at.

We also plan to get in contact with our hosting company to get adequate compensation. So in essence, this might work out well for all of us, with the double XP for a bit to boost levels beyond what you had before, and make up the lack of play time for the day we were down. Sorry for the inconvenience to everyone!!

It was running, but last night we started having problems with our hosting company again, and as they have not gotten back to us, we're taking this up time opportunity to take everything and run. The server is now back online - sorry for the downtime. We still haven't got in contact with our host provider, but the VPS randomly came back online at around 12pm EST. Hopefully we'll get in contact with them and worm our way into some free service for the downtime  ;)

ALSO! STATS HAVE BEEN ROLLED BACK ABOUT A DAY- THIS SUCKS FOR ALL OF US (I lost 35 thieving levels) - refer to this topic http://www.runerebels.com/smf/index.php?topic=6730

In addition we are rolling out the update that we were going to roll out yesterday around the same time the VPS randomly shut down.

These are mostly quality of life fixes for most people :)

Bass now stops burning at level 80 cooking
Added Brother Cedric Spawn
Edited Black Demon Drops
Edited Green dragon drops
Edited fire giant drops
Paladins fixed for thieving :)
Cows now milkable - Cakes for everyone!!!
Shanty pass shop fixed(still doesn't sell passes)

After a little bit of work, we have enabled multiple badges to be shown if you belong in more than one group.

This is just a precursor of some fun stuff in the works for forum modifications  ;)

Our newest addition isn't so much a brand new person, as much as it is a change of his status. Since joining the quest team he has remained vigilant in developing quests and finding bugs with them in our system, and quickly helping to improve the backbone of our quest system through his development. He has stuck through the winter and start of college classes and has remained in the background the whole time.

Now we'd like to bring him forward to you.

Please welcome n0va as a full fledged developer!
