A solution to custom content.

I am not personally for or against any piece of custom content in RuneRebels -- I do, however, acknowledge that some people are. It may be Skill Capes, QoL changes, or even more; but this suggestion is purely about how to go about any of those potential changes in the future.

Like the real game, RuneRebels Membership is a seperator between the two worlds that offers additional content. Anything that is not in the pure version of the game that developers or community members want to add will be in available in the members world - w2.

Obtaining Membership
Membership costs 500 Loyalty Tokens and needs to be renewed every month.

Membership Perks
 • New world (w2)
 • Any custom content
 • A user tag on the Forums

How will custom content be voted on?
Believe me, I don't want to see Zulrah here too.

As in the intial Loyalty Tokens post (that you can see here), any additional content is voted on using Loyalty Tokens. If you are super for or against an idea, you can express yourself using a large number of tokens and have your vote weighted more. Ultimately, however, it's the developers decision on whether or not an update should go through - the vote is simply a factor to see how strongly players feel.

Hey guys  :) In my last post, I mentioned Global Tasking. I'm going to expand on that idea in this one, so I hope to recieve good feedback, task ideas, but most of all, I hope you all enjoy it :)

Goal:
 - The goal of Global Tasking is to introduce more incentives to perform certain content, and tie everything together into a nice little knot of fun. The limitations are we cannot deviate away from a pure remake, and so we need to come up with a way of doing that.

Global Tasking will work by showing on the RuneRebels official website, the current "Global Task". For example, it can be "Pick 5,000 flax" - where every flax picked decreases the counter by 1. These Global Tasks are ideas contributed by the community, and some examples are shown below.

Rewards
 • Highest contributor recieves a 250 Loyalty Token bonus
 • Every contributor thereafter receives Loyalty Tokens as per the following equation:
        `token_reward = 5*contribution_percent*square_root_of_players_contributing`
         *(This equation will ensure an even distribution of Loyalty Tokens, in addition to a modest group bonus)*
 • Global Tasking contributions can be noted on the User's account on the forums

Task Selection
 • Each upcoming Global Task will have a poll on the home page with a "Loyalty Token vote" counter for 3 random Global Task options. They will each start at 1,000 Loyalty Tokens, and users can spend Loyalty Tokens on the different options to increase their chance of becoming the Global Task.  The Global Task chosen will be a random weighted average based on the Loyalty Token count.

Anti-Stall Reduction
 • Every Thursday, the Global Task will halve in requirement, meaning new participation in the Global Task will earn double the previous weeks contribution.

Walkthrough Example

A task is completed on Friday afternoon, and the next task is being generated. As per the home page and the votes from players, the distribution for the next task is as follows:
- Kill 750 Dragons [1,250 Loyalty Tokens] (~25.2%)
- Mine 3,000 Coal [1,000 Loyalty Tokens] (~20.2%)
- Pick 4,750 Flax [2,700 Loyalty Tokens] (~54.5%)
A weighted random selection is chosen, and the next task is to kill 750 Dragons.

Thursday rolls around, and the Global Task remains incomplete with only 200 Dragons slain by Prayer (26.7%). The Global Task is halved, but Prayer keeps his 26.7% contribution. With the new task set to 275 Dragons as the new requirement, someone slaying 100 Dragons would achieve the same 26.7% contribution.

By Sunday evening, the task is complete with the following breakdown:
```
Prayer: 200/750 + 130/275  = 26.7% + 47.3% = 74 Contribution %
Onur: 100/275 = 36 Contribution %
Liked: 45/275 = 16 Contribution %
```
And so the Loyalty Token rewards are:
```
Prayer: 5*74*sqrt(3) + 250 = 890 Loyalty Tokens
Onur: 5*36*sqrt(3) = 311 Loyalty Tokens
Liked: 5*16*sqrt(3) = 139 Loyalty Tokens
```

Example Global Tasks
If you have any additional suggestions for these, post in the thread on the RuneRebels forums. A (weighted) tag means higher tier (i.e. logs) are worth slightly more points. Note, ideal suggestions should benefit the economy, playerbase and be non-group determental activities.

 • Slay 250 - 750 Dragons
 • Complete 50 Clue Scroll Points (will be expanded on later)
 • Fletch 5,000 - 10,000 items
 • Mine 3,000 - 6,000 Essence
 • Mine 1,000 - 3,000 Coal
 • Chop 1,000 - 3,000 Logs (weighted)
 • Kill 5 Penance Queens
 • Cook 1,000 - 2,000 Fish
 • Complete 100 - 150 Quests/Level-ups
 • Code 3 - 10 Plugins

(Weighted examples:)
- Magic logs are worth 4x regular logs
- Hard Clue Scrolls are worth 5x easy clue scrolls
(etc)

Suggestions, Compliments, And Questions / Re: Voting and Donations Solution
« on: September 16, 2018, 02:46:10 pm »
How about community incentive compared to individual incentive when reaching a target amount of votes or
Examples could include:
  • Double exp rates (Although in my opinion this should be for special events
    Double Drop chances for a limited time
    Community events
    Resource drop party
    etc..

I love the community incentive idea, but those are a bit broken. Great concept though, we should expand on it!

This is a complete copy-paste of my discord post that people asked me to share here :)

        Hey everyone \<3. My old name was Liked, you may have known me from when I was probably about 12 playing RuneRebels for the first time. I used to love mining away at coal in my blue wizard outfit, as I once did on our beloved game. Today I run the /r/RSPS subreddit, and will be proposing a high-quality consideration to incentivize both Voting and Donations throughout the server: at no cost to the authenticity or remake nature of the world.

       Introducing Loyalty Tokens.
Loyalty Tokens are a brand new way to love, enjoy, and truely support the game we all love. They are balanced, non-game altering, and bring everyone together to relive RuneRebels to its fullest.

.
.

_\`\`'-.,\_,.-'\`\`'-.,\_,.\~  Distribution  \~'\`\`'-.,\_,.-'\`\`'-.\_,.-'\`\`_

In the art of fairness and balance, Loyalty Tokens can be achieved through a variety of methods:

 • Voting: Each vote will generate 25 Loyalty Tokens to the player whose name was entered
 • Donations: Donations will generate 100 Loyalty Tokens per 1$ donated
 • Event Distributions: Each staff member will have an allocated 250 monthly Loyalty Tokens to give away
 • Global Tasking: (I will write another thread giving more detail on this.)

_\`\`'-.,\_,.-'\`\`'-.,\_,.\~  Use-Cases  \~'\`\`'-.,\_,.-'\`\`'-.\_,.-'\`\`_

 • Forum Display:
      Loyalty Tokens can display benieth players' forum avatars in the following [Value/Value] method, where:
        - The numerator is their current number of Loyalty Tokens
        - The denominator is the total number of Loyalty Tokens they have ever generated

 • RuneRebels Membership:
      Membership has traditionally separated F2P from P2P players. After rolling out, World 2 will only be accessible to *members* players - who burn 500 Loyalty Tokens per month.

 • Tipping:
      Replying "!tip <amount>" on the forums will result in the amount specified transferred to either the OP of the post, or if placed after a quote, the user quoted.
      Tips have no affect on the number of tokens you have generated.

 • Burning:
      An option available through the homepage: "Burn" Loyalty Tokens. Both a monthly and life-time tally of the total Loyalty Tokens burned will be displayed, along with monthly and life-time highscores of top burners.

 • Voting:
      Polls can be generated where the score is based on the number of Loyalty Tokens voted with. While not the single factor for determining updates, this will enable veterans, dedicated players, and those with very strong opinions to have their voices and thoughts adequately heard. Similar to burning, you lose these tokens after voting with them.

I'm talking mousewheel to move camera, customized F-Keys, ability to type characters like "<" in chat, ability to type with first-letter uppercase in chat ("Type Like This!"), or number-keys to scroll through chat dialogue?
