Title: Skillcapes
Post by: Veteran on January 11, 2013, 10:14:33 am
Will skillcapes be added? I personally like them. Just for their emotes and colors. I know people hate them because it's "showing off" and the only "reason" why people want a 99. People also say it "encourages" botting too. Again, I just like the for their emotes and colors.

They should add skillcapes, but not atm cause no1 has any 99 or are close to them. They should focus on bugs first :)

No, it's a remake of May 2006 and there should be no exceptions.

Mixing client revisions isn't very easy, but it is possible. We can't really say right now. May seems to be the cutoff.

Isn't it possible to just insert the skillcape models into your own client?

OT: I support skillcapes although I would want them to have 0 stats, making other capes still better for training purposes.

Well yes but it involves modifying the cache (if you want to do it correctly, at least)

Just go to current runescape for emotes, atleast this ridiculous update isnt ruined yet there.

I don't care about the emotes :D I just like how it looks.

I'd prefer not to have skillcapes myself and stick to a strict 377 remake. However if they were added I guess that I wouldn't mind THAT much because it's nothing majorly game changing like most of the other 2006 updates after may 15th(void, defenders, c'bows, lunar, construction, etc.).

If they update to December 2006, we can have Construction and Hunter, along with skillcapes.

Possibly. But not in the near future

gave all the staff the right caches to do so...

I've seen that post, and I hope so, because we are a 2006 remake, I would love to be able to do construction and hunter and have skill capes, I could care less for Torso or Defenders.

So I'd say why not go to december for cut off? We'd be unique to the other remakes and would have much more to offer. *more then we already do now*

In the end what players really want is January 2007, "2006" is a misconception.

I'd love for skill capes and them skills hunter is my favourite catching the imps. Btw were crossbows in 2006? They made pk somewhat more fun and also throwing knives?

I personally, would like this to stay an 06remake. If it was strictly an 06remake, I would enjoy it oh so, dearly.

Throwing knives were in 2006, you are currently able to craft them.

I had the most fun in Runescape during 2007. I think ~December of 2006 is the best goal here.

"The Capes of Accomplishment were formally released on 18 October 2006 after having been alluded to several times within the forums, after Jagex had received many complaints of dedicated high-levelled players not being able to have much to flaunt with. "

Honestly, I'm not getting a 99 if it means I have to go around saying "Hey guys, I got 99 smithing." It's not fair to the other non-combat skills if there's no skillcapes.
But again, this isn't even close to being a problem yet. I think we just shouldn't stop updating until we've got all of 2006.

The remake's last possible update will be December 31st, 2006. So possibly.

I think skillcapes are cool, but I do not think they should be added to this server.

Well, according to skill guides, there is a milestones tab, and the skillcapes are in there, and that means the items are there because for example when you hover over attack cape it will show the item and id, which means this version should have skillcapes implemented imo,

Agreed should just add hunter and construct and make it till december31rst so much more to do and it still is 2006 along as the graphics and freetrade and pk stay its so much better with items like crossbows and hunting imps and avas attractor along with other quests and poh's.

They should add skillcapes, but not atm cause no1 has any 99 or are close to them. They should focus on bugs first :)

Coordinates should have 99 wc in the next few days.

I would just stay with May.

I'll have it by the end of the weekend. I only get 1m xp a day during the weekdays, so I'll only have around 8 - 9m xp in a few days.

Skillcapes would be nice and all, but they don't exactly fit the end date I thought would be there. If there are going to be Capes of Achievement, there is going to need to be a bunch of other stuff in the timespan before them.

Highscores are the reason Skillcapes shouldnt exist
