Title: Are there any bosses in game?
Post by: Pur3 5tr7 on February 11, 2015, 02:44:41 pm
Which bosses, if any, are currently accessible? I'm hoping the basic Jad, Kalphite, KBD?  :-\

:-\ We should at least get KBD, he's easy to code. Really, just copy normal dragon AI and add his special attacks.

KBD MELEE EDITION!

all in favour say I

It'd just be another NPC to mindlessly range kill without any fire. KBD also provides us with no new items in-game. Sounds like a waste of time to me  :-X, unless of course it is done right.

Pros: New boss / cave
Cons: No new items come from KBD, could would be camped (endlessly without fire) for commonly dropped, high price alching items. Would get boring just as fast as any other NPC would.

it would give us something new to do. :p but I agree there, no new added items would be a letdown.. But chaos elemental drops the legendary d2h! 92+ strength bonus!!

But if you make it an open code. You could add the Actual KBD when you want to. If you understand what i mean.

Ok so if this API is ever released (open code thing you mentioned), it won't be just a "drag and drop" things into the game. It will require you to actually know a few things about RSPS in general and be able to apply them to create something (even an NPC) that functions somewhat normal. Say KBD is planned to be released though, with the fact that someone just dropped it in the cave, this is what you would have to deal with;

The cave levers would break and players would be stuck inside. (Depending on how the game looks at the cave terrain at the moment, it could be considered wild, and you might be unable to teleport out).
KBD only has one melee style of attack, where it should not only do dragon breath damage, but also the dragon breath has an elemental color (air, fire, or water) that is chosen at random.

d2h would be crazy. I'd be up for having 5 or 6 people with them all specing at the same time to see what happens. Inb4runeception

You merely adopted the coding,
Omar was born in it,
molded by it.
He didn't see the sun until he had already coded life.
By then it was nothing but distracting...
