People still play, but it seems like everybody has phases where they play for a couple months and then don't for a while, and those times never seem to line up with everyone else, so there's constantly only like 1 or 2 players on if any, and then that in itself will make people not be as active after a couple months. I see it happen all the time with new players that join.

Discord is a much better way than the forums to check if people are active on here.

I'm new to this, when i play its usually 3-4 people on and at peak it's 5-8, rly wish more people played this..

So like when are you guys going to start advertising and stuff?

The way I see it, you may as well start building a player base and potentially get some funding while you can.

I used to play this game religiously. Idk why but I suddenly remembered runerebels and went to check my account and I have to say the nostalgia it brought was crazy. Having a friends list filled with people all the memories i've gathered. Grinding for that first rune scim from fire giants. Ty to all who participated in my experience of this game.

Yes people still play. Updates have been halted due to Ryan having irl issues such as his basement flooding  :'( however things should be back to normal hopefully soon.

It would be nice to get the place back up and running... Although, after years of constant scarring from Runerebels counterpart Worldscape, I refuse to have faith anymore  ;D

So let's gear this topic to the long forgotten voting system.  There are cosmetic gear in the game that voting can "buy" those items.  Just one suggestion.
Now before everyone goes back to voting, veterans may as well formulate how voting credits are spent so not to break the game.  Call it something imaginary to drawing in the crowds so I'm not doing something in-game alone.  And more people means more befriending and a greater economy.  Heck, we could even use VCs for gifts to others, provided a rule is in place not to trade for geepee for VC vice versa within trade.  Want an auction house, a new cat skin, or something that can be bought for VC, such a currency could even be required to vote, who knows, a one time fee to get improvements to the game you play, or WorldScape, even!
