Hello to all RuneRebel players and staff,
I am here to reveal the sad truth regarding my thoughts about RuneRebels...
RuneRebels is probably one of the smoothest, well coded and developed servers I have ever played on(not content wise, but the flawlessness in the programming). From stalking MoparScape accounts, other servers, and developers, I believe it is safe to say that Ryan is one of the best developers in the entire RSPS community. However, I can't bring myself to play this server anymore because of the lack of updates and activity of the staff. I understand that we all have busy lives outside of developing RSPS, but from a player standpoint, we favor those no-life developers that have sold their soul and devoted their lives to the development of their server. I would much rather play a decently coded server with minor bugs than a perfectly coded server without bugs but with tons of missing content. This server has so much potential, but it is up to the developers if they want to do anything about it.
I understand I'm sounding harsh, and that is why I posted this under the rants section.
Bottom line: Any mediocre but active developer > an inactive Ryan.
P.S. Ryan told us he was back and that he sorted out his hectic schedule and life. I have not seen any updates besides the one made the day of his return.
I agree on all of this. Sure, it diesnt have any bugs maybe but when you have done everything that is possible on the server it just gets plain boring. I think at least they could tell us if there are any sorts of updates coming out soon.
Ryan is still coding the api, if you took your time to read through some posts you would know this.
I agree, and i wish i could code and help develop. Because to be completely honest, i could afford having no life. lol

You're not a dick. Well..... Maybe.
No, just kidding. lol
You misunderstood my comment. I was making a joke. But my sense of humour is quite odd.

This has been in the midst of Ryans ideas for a while but it seems that he is finally actually doing one of them lol.... basically what this api will do is that the server itself will run off a program which accepts "plug-ins" if you may call it. People code the plug ins (like bukkit in minecraft) and then you simply add it in a file on your source code and the server will accept it as added content to the game. This will allow people who don't know how to program, able to run a successful server with other peoples plug-ins and will allow owners to trust their co-owners, staff, etc. with helping them in developing the game. Basically if james were to come back right now, he could code a couple quests if he wanted to, without ever having access to the source code. Neat huh!

This API stuff sounds brilliant.
No doubt, I'm late coming back and i've missed it. Ah well.
Well I am glad to let everyone know that the API is coming along very nicely and will be released to the public soon! 8)
I will be posting a sneak peak of the documentation very soon for you guys. :)

Agreed. This servers lack of updates and people never being online is a real boner killer. But alas; I am not giving up in the heart of the community. We must hold on! Something will eventually turn up; and if not; then some of us may have to take up the mantle of coding this server. My only question is; whos up for the task?
