::Yell Color
« on: November 06, 2014, 04:25:41 pm »
::Yell seems to be a complete success from what I have seen so far.  Bravo on the implementation.  My suggestion is to color all ::yell chats something other than black so they stand out a little from the normal game banter.  I just noticed that while thieving it was very easy to miss yells and may also be difficult to catch in combat.

Thanks

I agree on this actually. I like talking to people over yell and it has been a HUGE improvement to the community. It would be extremely helpful to make them distinguishable. If you could make the yell chat blue possibly I think that'd work out fine.

What if saying a ::yell also said it over your head too? (Without duplicating it in the near-bluechat) So if people are yelling in a full bank, people there can identify the yeller by position. Would help with trades.

It should be red or something other than black or red.

or even if it could be done to send yells to private for when your getting a lot of game text

Yea I agree with this, we should try a color like blue or red and see how everyone likes it.

Use the colour red, like the clan chat feature on the real runescape, stands out pretty well.
You know that weird flavour in your mouth when you woke up this morning? Yup, that was me.

On newer client revisions this is possible; sadly it isn't possible in the 317 client unless I hack away at the 317 client. :)

I assume that this could be done with some modifications to the 317 client?

I agree that it yell should be disabled after a certain amount of players online.

I also agree that yell should be in the colour blue, and no it should not appear over your head

Maybe we could have a disable yell command for each individual player? If someone doesn't want to participate or see the yell conversation they could do ::disable yell or something like that.

maybe clan chat would be a better option?
I know this is 2006scape but clanchat was a GOOD update. :)
private group discussions are never a bad thing right?

You can't just "add clan chat." That would require us to move to a different client revision.
