I'm sure they will get to that when the appropriate quests come along.

I'm quite sure that has to do with summoning and I don't think cats and stuff were added in until 2007 - 2008.

Jake:
Yeah Summoning was released January 15 2008. So I don't think when the game is released there will be pets but if there is you will most likely be only able to walk them.

im pretty sure cats were around a long time.

RFD (recipe for disaster) was released march 15, 2006. cats will most likely be in the game. (and if you count the Gertrude's cat quest)
