Hey guys Gravified here.
In game at the moment, we have no moderators online with 180 players. You'd think that there would be more moderators online at the moment but there are none. We kinda need more mods guys.
-
I imagine they'll get more soon.
-
agreed, i would love to apply to be one!
-
I agree! We definitely need more moderators especially in the GMT time zone.

I suggest a Staff application section on the forums, i have played with several servers that have this.
-
Yeh, we are definitely going to need more moderators as the server continues to grow.
-
Agreed.
-
wouldn't mind being a pm, a staff application section sounds like a good idea :)
-
I agree. And yes, a staff applications section would be wonderful. Some of the biggest servers out there have successfully drafted their staff team using this method.

I think it would be better if they chose mods themselves. Otherwise we'll just have people who joined 2 hours ago making mod applications...
-
I don't think an application process would be the best way of getting new mods. People can lie and so on.. It would be much better if the current staff chose who they think are worthy of the position.

application process, would at least give the mods an idea of who is interested, they would still judge them by their behavior ingame.....

JT seems to agree that a application section would be a bad idea.

Alternate Ending

JT- Yeah thats a good idea
Jamie - i completely agree IMO!

They will get more moderators soon be patient.

You know what'll happen if they make an apply-for-staff forum, it's inevitable. Just a few of the things that'll proboably occur:
"GIVE ME MOD", "I WANNA BE A MOD", "I WILL PSEUDO-MODERATE EVERYTHING IN GAME AND ON THE FORUMS, GIVE ME MOD", "AMG I WILL HAX IF YOU DONT GIVE ME MOD"... Need I go on?
Of course, even if it's not instated, there'll still be the large base of "Wanna Be Mod's", or "wbm's" around.
[Edit]: For those of you whom aren't familar with me, I can be a bit of a troll at times. Don't take what I say out of context too far.

"I WILL PSEUDO-MODERATE EVERYTHING IN GAME AND ON THE FORUMS, GIVE ME MOD"
Reminds me of somebody...

I agree with this.

When have I tried to moderate anything? I don't even want mod, because then I'd have to not put half the server on ignore.
-
The staff know who is ready to be a moderator and who is not. I'm sure that as people have proven their worth and value to the server they will be given a chance. Asking for staff won't get you anywhere.

Exactly, the staff will choose moderators if they have to.

It's not as if players are making massive rule breaks and getting away with it? Plus reporting to moderators work as well. If you break the rules you will be caught.
-
We have some staff members that are on a little less frequently due to IRL things like school. Also with the way we manage things now using the "Report Abuse" button on the bottom of your client screen sends in a report that we can read and react upon even if we aren't in the game.
-
I do agree that we could use a couple more player and forum moderators, but please no application forum!
-
I think the point has been made and the owners understand this.

There are bugs and people are getting stuck, 4 of my friends got stuck yesterday and waited for around 4 hours before a mod logged on and they helped them get out.
-
Support for the GMT timezone.
-
Yeah, yesterday I was gliched to a point where I couldn't even play because there weren't any staff members on at the time. Totally agree with you there Gravified.

I support if the section has Auto Hide post features + lock so only staff can view and comment on applications.
-
Making an application is asking for staff they look for you, you don't look for them.

At the current time only admins can un-stick players in game.

PMods don't have the power to teleport people.

We can kick and mute players, enable or disable yell (We can use yell if it's disabled for important announcements, and not for our own gain). That's pretty much all we can do.
-
Mods having the kick command is new than. Last time I asked a pmod to kick my account they said the didnt have it! :o Should prove useful.
