Title: Level setting.
Post by: Garrett on May 03, 2012, 09:52:24 pm
Since our skills and items are going to be reset anyway, I think it would be helpful if we had the ::setlevel command. Just so we could test things a little better.

i agree, so we can test barrows and other combat related things

Yeah, along with skills. I mean it would take too long to even get 40 in a skill if it's just going to get reset. The somebody could make the ::master command for us at least.

We've discussed this and we've decided to make the XP Rate 10x that of RuneScape's where as previously, it was only 2.5X. Hope this helps you guys test out everything. :D

Nate, to answer your question, I believe it will be a few times faster than RuneScape's.  :)
@ Garrett, no problem.  :D

Will it be 2.5 x faster than runescape when it's fully released or 10x?

I think they changed it to 10x for the testing only. By the looks of it the XP rate will drop when the game is released.

Nate, if it is a few times faster than RuneScape's, it will still take a long time to max out a skill. I believe that also answered your question Leigh. :)

From what Jarred said, Yes.

I agree, there should be the master command available for all players for now until the release or just remove the levels require to wear items.

That could leave out some leveling bugs. If people don't go through all the levels, Test everything and what not some major things could be bypassed and in the long run wreck the game. OR someone could use it in the future for an advantage or an "edge" over other players.

The XP rate will be set for 2.5 after we release. And we want you guys to TEST things instead of setting skills. We want you guys to test everything.

Kevin is correct, the reason we didn't enable the set level command is that we don't want everyone jumping to high levels, the lower levels stuff needs to be tested out too! This is why we increased the XP rate, because we want everyone to go through the full process of training their account, just must faster then they would when the game was released so you don't feel it is that much of a waste of time.  :)

If you want, we could increase the XP rate further for testing.

That's why you took out XP lamps as well?  ::)

I think the level that it's at now is acceptable. Makes it a little more entertaining.
